Paid Admission to Worship

From al.com:
[Joel] Osteen and his wife, Victoria, will be leading a worship service at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Arena in Birmingham on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each through Ticketmaster, with information available on his Web site, www.joelosteen.com.

1. All other problems with Joel Osteen's self-help theology aside, how can he be on tour and charge admission for 'worship.'

2. This is not worship. If you want to feel good, watch The Natural, don't go listen to Osteen's smile.

Ahhh, it does feel good to knock the cover off the ball...

You know Colby, I think that you are just having some negative feelings today. Maybe what you need to do is wake up today, put on a smile, and remember that God has been good to you. Because you know Colby, you're good enough, you're smart enough, and people like you. (Read with a really sappy Southern accent. You might even want to throw in an "aw shucks" in there somewhere.)

I'm feeling better already just thinking about how good I really am.

Well, Colby, you'll have to contact Ticketmaster...apparently the hurricane has caused this performance to be postponed.

Okay, just for kicks I searched for tickets for the DC 'show', and they appear to be COMPLETELY SOLD OUT. That is sad.
